BRIDGEPORT, CT – United Staging & Rigging (USR) has been purchased by long time employee Jonathan B. Sharpe. The company is a provider of staging, chain motors, trussing, scaffolding, roof systems, rigging supplies and services to the Boston and New York theatrical, event and touring markets.

In 1986 Larry Morley, a rigger and stagehand from Fairfield County Connecticut started United Staging & Rigging to service the burgeoning rigging needs of the Broadway Market. In 1999 Larry expanded the company and opened an office in Boston. That same year Jonathan “Jon” Sharpe, a freelance rigger in Boston, joined United Staging & Rigging. Jon advanced from Rigger to Account Executive to General Manager of the Boston office and then to Operations Manager for the entire company. In the summer of 2015, Sharpe presented Morley with an offer to purchase the company and an agreement was reached shortly thereafter. Sharpe is now President and owner of United Staging & Rigging.
Jonathan B. Sharpe received a BA degree from Keene State College in Keene New Hampshire. He is married and lives in New Hampshire with his wife and two small children.
United Staging and Rigging has a Boston office located in Haverhill Massachusetts and the New York office is located just across the New York/ Connecticut border in Bridgeport Connecticut.
