AAdynTech Boosts Output for JAB and Punch Fixtures

AAdyn Technology (AAdynTech) noted that four models in the company’s JAB and Punch fixture lines now have increases of at least 30 percent in output while holding the line on energy consumption. The enhanced fixtures include the JAB Daylight, JAB V2 Variable, JAB Hurricane, and Punch Plus, pictured here, which is nearly 50 percent brighter than before.

More details from AAdynTech (www.aadyntech.com):

In addition, the JAB Daylight, JAB V2 Variable and the Punch Plus now have a built-in user interface module (UIM) for enhanced programming convenience. The JAB V2 Variable also has a new digital Kelvin temperature readout. That fixture and the JAB Daylight retain their tethered remote unit option.

“The higher output puts each of these fixtures in another category for lighting professionals,” said Walter Lefler, Principal of AAdynTech. “In addition to higher foot candle output, the built-in UIM allows for DMX assignments and effects to be done right on the fixture head, without having to use a remote.”

Adding to its heightened programming convenience, the JAB V2 Variable’s upgraded software enables users to set the light to a specific Kelvin temperature. “A Director of Photography can now very quickly arrive at the desired color temperature and brightness,” added Lefler.

Specs on the new product line include:

•           The JAB V2 Variable fixture delivers the best blend of tungsten and daylight with tremendous brightness. Set to tungsten (3200 Kelvin), it produces 1,060 fc @ 10 feet; in the mid-color setting, (4500 Kelvin), the V2 outputs 2,200 fc @ 10 feet; at daylight, (5600 Kelvin), the output is 1,630 fc @ 10 feet. The fixture now has the Kelvin readout incorporated into the body.

•           The JAB Daylight output is increased to 2,500 fc @ 10 feet. As with the full JAB Series fixtures, it only consumes 1.78 amps/AC and will also operate on 30 volt DC battery power.

•           The JAB Hurricane, highly sought after by news gathering and field crews because it is fully weatherproof and dust proof (IP65 rating), now delivers 2,360 fc @ 10 feet.  As with the other JAB fixtures, it consumes only 1.78 amps and can be operated via DC battery power, making it ideal for remote productions.

•           The Punch Plus has increased output by approximately 50 percent to deliver 6,000 fc @ 10 feet; as with its predecessor, it still consumes less than 5 amps/AC. Its four supplied lenses add flexibility.

Lefler noted that because the new fixtures match the look and feel of existing AAdynTech products currently out in the field, its customers can use the new with the old without compromising quality. AAdynTech will have the new fixtures on display at the NAB show in Las Vegas, Nev. in April (Booth C1336), and at the Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles, Calif. in June (Booth S318).
