The new TCX9 from Tekvox combines touchscreen and control processing. It’s a 9-inch touchscreen with full HD (1920×1200) resolution and a control processor. The TCX9 promises easy control of TekMonitors, third-party control systems and a wide variety of other AV devices. Its hybrid design and non-proprietary control language also promise a substantial cost savings over control systems requiring separate touchscreens and controllers.

More details from Tekvox (www.tekvox.com):

“The ability for our customers to easily create a powerful control system and GUI platform in one simple product makes the TCX9 a compelling and versatile alternative to typical expensive control systems and touch panels,” said Mike Slattery, Tekvox founder and CTO. “The high resolution of the TXC9 screen and its unique wedge design and wall mounting system solves the off-access viewing angle that plague other touch panels.”

The product’s wedge shape and 9-inch HD screen deliver a large viewing angle for optimal screen views from all angles. The included mounting bracket enables the TCX9 to be locked in place on the wall. It can be mounted at ADA-compliant heights and the screen can be oriented facing up towards the viewer so that it can be easily viewed by people who are seated in a wheelchair or standing.

It features an HDMI video connection plus both wireless and wired LAN for guaranteed network connections. USB and Bluetooth connections for mouse and keyboard are also included.

The new TekController TCX9 employs the Windows 10 operating system in a fixed operational mode without the traditional Windows GUI. The TCX9 will enable different GUI choices including the iRidium Pro and Lite GUI series and Crestron® XPANEL, which are each licensed separately. Tekvox will publish standard GUI examples for its various Drop-In solutions, which will serve as starting points for customization by customers.

The TekController control platform uses JavaScript coding and drivers for controlling TekMonitors and other Tekvox equipment. Additional drivers are available for using the device as a touchscreen controller for third-party controllers, DSPs and other serial, infrared or IP-controlled products.

It is available now at the MSRP of $895, which includes the TCX9 Panel, mounting bracket and PoE power adapter.
