Ultra-Compact C6043 Industrial PC Takes on High-Intensity Computing Tasks in AI Applications

The C6043 is an especially powerful addition to the ultra-compact C60xx industrial PC (IPC) series from Beckhoff. The C6043 stands out with an NVIDIA graphics processing unit (GPU) integrated by Beckhoff. This powerhouse IPC provides the ideal hardware foundation for high-intensity computing applications, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

In addition to its modern Intel® Core™ processor options, the C6043 measures just 132 x 202 x 127 mm and can be equipped with powerful and long-term available NVIDIA GPUs for parallel processing via a factory assignable slot. This makes the IPC ideal as a central control unit for highly demanding applications, including those that place high demands on 3D graphics or with deeply integrated vision and AI programs with minimal cycle times.

TwinCAT 3 automation software from Beckhoff can map these functions alongside the main control program, without additional software or interfaces. With the additional freely assignable PCIe compact module slot, the C6043 can also be flexibly expanded with additional interfaces. The C6043’s power supply and cooling system ensure ample power to fully exploit the potential of the external graphics card and the latest Intel® processors for AI and other computationally intensive applications.

The use of Intel® Core™ processors in the 12th and 13th generations gives the C6043 enormous computing power, with the Intel® Core™ i5, i7, and i9 processors built in a hybrid architecture for the very first time. As with previous generations, Intel® Celeron®, Pentium®, and Core™ i3 are equipped exclusively with classic performance cores. Four additional efficiency cores are added to the Core™ i5, eight to the Core™ i7, and 16 to the Core™ i9 processors.

This combination of performance and efficiency cores allows applications to be implemented on a total of up to 24 real cores. While performance cores are primarily suitable for high-performance, single-thread applications, many additional threads can be executed in real time or in user mode on the additional efficiency cores. Each individual core can be configured in clock frequency, just as it can with the 11th generation of Intel® Core™ processors.
