HASSELT, Belgium — A violent storm ripped down trees, tents and truss on Aug. 18, the opening day of the three-day Pukkelpop music festival, where some 60,000 people had gathered to hear the Foo Fighters, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Rise Against and other bands perform. Four people are reported dead and dozens were wounded, eight seriously, according to news reports. Organizers opted to cancel the 2011 event, which had been set to feature other headliners including Eminem and the Offspring.
