ATLANTA, LOS ANGELES and LONDON — XL Video is reorganizing its U.S. operations and merging the management structure for its ongoing operations in Atlanta and Los Angeles to focus on its three primary business groups: touring, exhibitions and events.

In early March, the company announced that Greg Gardner had been named chief operations officer of XL Video US. Gardner, who reports to Rene de Keyzer, has been working with Cary Tan, chief financial officer, to implement the merged company structure.

In early April, XL Video announced that industry veteran Mark Haney will succeed Phil Mercer as head of concert touring in North America. Mercer, who recently completed a three-year commitment to U.S. operations, will now head the international concert touring business at XL’s offices in London.

As newly-named senior vice president, Haney, based in Los Angeles, who comes to XL Video from Elation Professional and, before that, Screenworks NEP, has extensive experience as a video director, having worked on projects featuring Eric Clapton, Star Wars in Concert and Kenny Chesney, among many others.

“I’m very excited to become a part of the team at XL Video. I think XL is unique in that we are an international company, with local solutions. We will be supporting our touring clients out of our offices in Los Angeles, Atlanta, London, and several locations in continental Europe,” Haney said.

“XL is extremely fortunate to have Mark’s experience in the concert touring industry,” noted Gardner, when the news was announced at a company meeting  coinciding with the New York Auto Show.

“Being a supplier at this level is a team sport, and we are building a great team here at XL,” Gardner added. “We are actively recruiting people that are the best at what they do.”
