LONDON – Danish LD Benjamin la Cour has been using his own Jands Vista T2 lighting console, running the next generation Vista v2 software, on a busy schedule which includes a Danish production of  “Les Miserables.” The designer tried out three different consoles for a month each, deciding on the Jands Vista in the end because of its theatre-friendly features.

SECAUCUS, NJ – The 2012 Academy Awards featured a main drape fabricated from Rose Brand. The drape was made out of 21 oz. Marvel and custom sewn in Rose Brand’s West Coast facility. The drape featured 204 hand-sewn, jeweled medallions and a 4-foot-8-inch trim band. It was also sewn with 150 percent fullness.

Bergamo, Italy – LD Baz Halpin used Clay Paky Sharpys and Alpha Beam 700 automated spotlights on the US leg of Katy Perry’s “California Dreams” tour.  Katy’s tour was set in a ‘Candyfornia’ world that was colorful and thematically-inspired, Halpin said. He used the 16 Sharpys along the perimeter of the stage, while the Alpha Beam 700s were the “multipurpose workhorses.”
