In Memoriam: Richard ‘Nook’ Schoenfeld

A remembrance of Richard “Nook” Schoenfeld, 65. Editor Emeritus of PLSN magazine and a noted Lighting Designer and Writer, Nook died on the morning of Dec. 14, 2022. Though he had beaten pancreatic cancer this past year and was cancer-free, complications from that fight resulted in liver failure. He was a legend for his wit and kindness and his loss is felt by family, friends, colleagues, and the industry as a whole.

Artist/Sculptor Margot Rada: The Coach Gold Leather Horse for Lil Nas X

Los Angeles-based Margot Rada, a multidisciplinary artist and sculptor, was brought onto the team of Lil Nas X’s “Long Live Montero” tour to design and fabricate an ultra-lightweight two-person horse costume—covered in gold leather from Coach—with articulating legs, head, and neck. Rada explains her work on this beautiful and unique touring piece.

Musical Chairs: ZHU at Red Rocks

Wynn Las Vegas premiered Awakening in November 2022, a spectacular production that immerses audiences in a custom-designed 360˚ theater at the resort. The show is conceived and created by Bernie Yuman, Baz Halpin, and Michael Curry, and narrated by two-time Academy Award®-winner Anthony Hopkins. When announced, Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts said, “Every so often, the bar for spectacle in Las Vegas is raised. Chelsea Hartley, Production Coordinator

Chelsea Hartley, who just finished the recent South American leg of Bad Bunny’s “World’s Hottest Tour,” took some time to speak with PLSN about her current work as a Production Coordinator. She has also worked on Gwen Stefani’s “Just a Girl” concert residency in Las Vegas as well as toured with Karol G in 2021 and the New Kids on the Block.
