Ultra Music Festival’s World Wide Stage Rig Includes Next NXT-1 LEDs from Chauvet Professional

MIAMI – For the World Wide stage at this year’s Ultra Music Festival, LD Steve Lieberman of SJ Lighting used 36 Chauvet Professional Next NXT-1 moving LED fixtures to create a “fingers of light” effect. Lieberman positioned the Next NXT-1 panels on eight truss beams fanning out from the center of the stage, which was positioned on the side of the arch structure, rather than in the back.

Long Reach Long Riders Raise $15K+ for Behind the Scenes with USITT Raffle, Auction, Swag

NEW YORK, NY – The Long Reach Long Riders (LRLR) celebrated their upcoming ride through the Desert Southwest with a raffle and live auction to benefit Behind the Scenes during the USITT Conference in Salt Lake City last week. Sales of raffle tickets, some key donations, and sales of BTS and LRLR-branded swag raised over $15,000 for the charity. The LRLR 2016 ride, dubbed the Radioactive Ride, starts on June 4th in Las Cruces, NM. The riders cover all their own expenses so everything they raise goes to the charity.

AG Production Services Goes Big At Ultra Music Festival 2016

MIAMI, FL –Ultra Music Festival once again takes over Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami to celebrate the conclusion of the annual Winter Music Conference and kick off the summer electronic dance music festival scene with seven stages and some of the biggest DJ’s in the EDM circuit. For the fifth year running, AG Production Services has been called upon to provide its massive dome structure for not just one, but two of the stages at Ultra. Application Deadline for USITT Elite Training at Cirque du Soleil is March 28

LAS VEGAS – USITT is accepting applications for its Elite Training weekend for emerging technical theatre professionals May 19-21 in Las Vegas. The deadline to apply is March 28. The Elite program provides three days of intensive, hands-on training at no charge to a total of 40 participants in sound, rigging, automation, projection, and stage management at the Cirque du Soleil Training Center in Vegas. Bandit Lites Remembers Sam Beall at Knoxville Museum of Art Event

KNOXVILLE, TN – The Knoxville Museum of Art’s primary annual fundraising event, L’Amour du Vin, was held for the 13th year March 5 despite the untimely death of Sam Beall, owner of food and wine sponsor Blackberry Farm, less than two weeks before the event. Beall, 39, grew up on his parents’ 4,200-acre farm and took over its management in 2002. The museum credited Beall and his team for taking the fundraising auction and dinner from a “nice, catered event” to “an amazing food and wine experience” after getting involved in 2006. Beall, 39, died Feb. 25 in a ski accident at Beaver Creek, CO. Bandit donated the lighting package for the wine auction and dinner, including GRNLite LED pars, Vari*Lite VL2500 Spots, ETC LED Lekos and Chauvet Freedom Par Quad-4 fixtures.

University of Southern California’s Newman Hall Updates House Lighting with Ovation LED Fixtures

LOS ANGELES – For the refurbished lighting system within Alfred Newman Recital Hall on the USC campus, 4Wall installed 15 Chauvet Professional Ovation H-105WW LED fixtures. The fixtures were positioned in three straight rows of five units each in the black spaces between the three prominent white mason beams that run across the width of the audience area ceiling.

Brian Dowd, Vice President of Sales for A.C.T Lighting, presented a check for $5,000 to members of the Behind the Scenes Foundation Board of Directors. SALT LAKE CITY – On the show floor at USITT, Rosco Laboratories presented their eighth annual royalty check from the sales of Roscolux #359 Medium Violet to Behind the Scenes, the charity that assists entertainment technology professionals in need due to serious illness or injury. This year’s proceeds amounted to $3,200, bringing the total contribution since this program began to $21,548.
