LONDON – Robe’s new Big Multi-Functional Luminaire Spot moving light fixture was used to light the fabulous Pink Ribbon Ball, held in London in support of the Breast Cancer Campaign. 

Hang Meas HDTV in Cambodia has been using PR Lighting fixtures on their new hit talent show, The Voice Cambodia. The show uses around 100 XR300 Beam fixtures supported by XL700 and XL Beam 300 discharge lights.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Production company MJ Event Gear supplied over 75 x Robe moving lights to the 2014 South African Guide Dogs Association’s gala dinner. Lighting Designer Ole Boinamo chose 48 x Robe LEDWash 600s, 12 x LEDBeam 100s and 16 x Robe 300E Spots for the moving light elements.

In addition to the much-coveted title as Danish Favourite DeeJay of the Year, Kongsted is also the lighting designer of his own shows. For his recent music video for his new hit track R.E.D., Kongsted hung 72 of SGM’s one meter LED tubes (LT-100) from the ceiling. “The things you can create visually with these tubes are really amazing. It gives the whole experience a sense of being alive.” He continues: “With the 3D effect, it can be seen from every angle, and this is a very strong feature in my opinion. Another thing that makes it unique for me is that it is controlled by Art-Net, giving more opportunities from a visual standpoint in creating a strong visual expression.”

WEST NORFOLK, U.K. – 5 Star Cases supplied new flightcases to house the timing equipment used by the West Norfolk Swimming Club. Two of the cases each take four timing pads, and both feature a split-top design making the cases as accessible as possible, facilitating extremely quick and easy removal and deployment of the pads from the large cases.

ROME — Mario De Sisti, a lighting designer who founded De Sisti Lighting in early 1982, died Oct. 31, 2014. Survivors include sons Fabio and Sergio De Sisti, who plan to continue the company’s legacy of innovation with lighting and rigging product technologies, building on past successes that have advanced flicker-free lighting for television applications and such rigging innovations as motorized self-climbing hoists.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – For Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz world tour stop at Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot on Sept. 11, Musique Xpress Lights provided Chauvet Professional fixtures. The gear, including 44 Q-Wash 560Z-LED moving washes and 48 COLORado Batten 72 Tour LED linear wash fixtures, was chosen and approved by both LD Sean Burke and LD Richard Vicens of Musique Xpress Lights.

DOHA, Qatar – LD Milad Masaad used more than 300 Robe fixtures to light the 2014 Adha Festival staged at the Souq Waqef here. The rig, lighting a stage structure assembled for the festival, included an overhead rig with 40 Pointes, 30 LEDBeam 100s, 24 LEDWash 600s, 12 LEDWash 1200s and 22 REDWash 3?192s and a floor package with 11 MMX Spots, 16 ColorBeam 2500E ATs and another 60 LEDForce 18s.

SYDNEY — For the Nine Network’s Footy Show, a TV sports program covering pro rugby games, lighting supervisor Andrew Veitch works to ensure that there are no visual fumbles on the set. For the NRL Grand Final Footy Show, he was also able to use 32 new MAC Quantum Wash fixtures along with 52 Martin MAC Viper Profiles and more than 100 Martin MAC101s to light the show. Chameleon Touring Systems supplied the gear.

LONDON – BroadWeigh announced that the rigging division of U.K. distributor A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd. has provided three full kits of 12-point load monitoring to UK-based Load Cell Rental. The BroadWeigh system, pictured here, uses Crosby shackles and wireless load pis.

MINSK, Belarus – LD Ilya Piotrovsky of Blackout Studio included PR Lighting XLED 336 fixtures in the rig for the third season of a popular talent show here, Poyushchie Goroda (Singing Cities). The season began with a five-day casting period — one for each region of Belarus.
