HADERA, Israel – Baya’ar, a wedding venue situated in a wooded area in this Tel Aviv suburb, is making use of a new lighting rig that includes 84 Robe Pointes and eight LEDWash 600s for lavish events that can include up to 1,000 guests. Robe’s Israel-based distributor, Danor, provided the gear.

FRANKFURT, Germany – Leader Light noted its participation during the six-day Light+Building trade exhibition here, which overlapped with Prolight+Sound. “We decided to change the stand design and used a green color, which evokes eco and energy-saving lighting,” said managing director Julius Szaraz.

As a partner with London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Robe will be supplying technical equipment and resources to the Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre, the George Bernard Shaw Theatre and the John Gielgud Theatre, all in RADA’s central London buildings. The equipment includes DLS Profiles, DLF Washes and LEDWash600s, together with two of the new MMX Blades – all from Robe’s ROBIN series.

UK – Stage Electrics recently delivered the lighting, audio and video systems to Milton Court, Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s state-of-the-art facility. Stage Electrics supplied, installed and commissioned the lighting, audio and video infrastructure venue-wide which includes dimmer racks, data distribution, paging and show relay, plus custom-manufactured stage management desks, facility panels, lighting bars, ‘raceways’ and loose equipment.

SAN REMO, Italy — The Sanremo Music Festival, broadcast live by Italian TV station Rai 1 since the mid-1950s, is widely considered to be the precursor to Eurovision Song Contest. It has also launched the career of a long roster of internationally known vocalists including Andrea Bocelli.

OXFORD, U.K. – An evolution of their summer festival floor lighting package, the design for The Foals current world tour relied exclusively on lighting and lasers. The starting point for the design was the entwined cobra / Buddha backdrop created by Leif Podhaksky. HSL supplied the equipment to bring LD Davy Sherwin’s vision to life.

In cooperation with the Italian Lighting Designers Network, Clay Paky makes the Ventura Lambrate district shine during Milan Design Week with a series of temporary lighting installations. The NaturaLED lighting itinerary aims to guide visitors through a true lighting experience involving variations in light intensity and color. 

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia in Canberra recently renovated its 114-seat Theatrette, expanding the stage, creating a new seating design and installing new audio/visual technology. The refurbishment also included an update to the venue’s lighting system, adding a number of ETC Source Four LED and Selador LED luminaires, all controlled by an ETC SmartFade lighting desk.

Billed as The World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Show, Brit Floyd has performed to over one million fans around the world since its first show in Liverpool in 2011. The lighting design by Dave Hill incorporates Elation’s Platinum 5Rs into the trademark Pink Floyd arch and circle light show. Used as part of the floor package are 8 Elation Design Spot 1200C’s, a hybrid spot/wash fixture. “The optics are excellent,” said LD Stu Dingley, “often rivalling output from other fixtures with larger apertures and lamps. We noticed this especially on the shows where we had to hire in an alternative floor package.”
