MADISON, WI — Full Compass Systems announced the recent promotion of Mark Nash as their new company President.  At the company’s ribbon cutting for their new building, with employees, friends, and government officials in attendance, Jonathan Lipp presented Nash with the position of president, promoting him from his former executive vice president role.

ORLANDO — Creative Technology named Michael Carbenia Business Development Manager. A 30-year industry veteran, Carbenia spent 17 years with Total Audio Visual Services (TAVS), holding various management positions in both sales and operations for their event staging division.

CHICAGO — Reed Rigging, Inc. added Shawn Nolan, PE, to their staff. Nolan has worked as a structural and consulting engineer for the past 15 years, with a total of 30 years of entertainment industry experience. 

PARIS — Analog Way named Franck Facon worldwide marketing and communication/customer service director. Facon had been the company’s sales manager for the French market from 2002 to 2008. He also served as project manager for some of the company’s marketing initiatives.

NEW YORK, NY — The Lighting Design Group has announced that Trevor Gooch has joined its staff as a full time gaffer and production electrician.  Gooch had previously worked as a freelance gaffer and electrician with LDG for such projects such as the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the relight of the QVC Studios in Westchester, Penn. and the 2008 Election Plaza at Rockefeller Center. 

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Vaddio named Andrew Berger as its broadcast product manager. Vaddio has more than 20 years experience in the broadcast industry with technical, business, marketing and product development experience. In his new role, Berger will identify market needs in the broadcast industry and be responsible for implementing Vaddio's broadcast products and channel strategy.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Norcostco Inc., a theatrical design, sales and supply company, opened a new project design and sales office in Colorado Springs, Colo. to better serve their clients in Southern Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. The location will be run by Derry D. Hirsch, who has been the head of outside sales and design for over seven years at the Minneapolis home office.

LOS ANGELES — Arup has named Robert Young senior theatre consultant. He will lead West Coast theatre design operations from Arup’s Los Angeles office. 

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Harkness Screens named Jeff Samitt as group director, sales & marketing.  In his new position, Samitt will create integrated marketing programs, build strategic customer relationships, initiate industry partnerships and develop new products and markets.
