Trumpet Awards Shine with Mark Carver and Bandit Lites

ATLANTA – Bandit Lites worked again with LD Mark Carver in lighting The Annual Trumpet Awards. The special event honoring the accomplishments of African-Americans took place Jan. 26 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Carver was challenged with designing an elegant space that would render well on television. House lights were eliminated, and as award winners made their way to the stage from the audience, Carver paid special attention to lighting the audience in addition to the presenters and performers.

DAVIE, FL — PTT of Florida, a supplier of temporary live event labor for large arena shows and events, has moved three doors down from its current location at 10388 West SR 84 to Suite 106 at the 595 Corporate Park of Commerce. Previously in Suite 109, PTT General Manager Maria Munro said the company needed a more spacious conference room and more offices for its growing staff of events industry employees.

Pyro Implicated in Brazil Nightclub Fire, 237 Reported Killed

SANTA MARIA, Brazil — Authorities have detained four people in connection with a fire that ripped through the packed Kiss nightclub in this southern Brazil city in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 27, killing 237. A small pyro display is being implicated as the cause. Early reports suggest that some kind of pyro device ignited foam sound insulation material on the ceiling, and that a crowd of college-aged revelers stampeded and were suffocated within minutes by the resulting smoke and fumes.
