LAS VEGAS – Developer/partners Cirque du Soleil and The Light Group recently opened a new nightclub, Light, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Part Cirque show and part dance club, it features 38,000 sq. ft. of space and a 35-high high ceiling with acrobats spinning overhead and EDM DJs spinning up front. LDs John Lyons and Richard Worboys of John Lyons Systems (Hollywood, CA) had the extra challenge of illuminating an adjacent 50,000 sq. ft. outdoor Mediterranean-style pool/beach club area called Daylight. They chose more than 450 Elation Professional fixtures for both spaces.

The locally-based Arlecchino Group, which supplies lighting to events across the region, provided A.leda Wash K20s and the Sharpys for the launch of the restaurant on a boat, named ‘Seagull,’ moored in the city’s center.

The NanoSlim display hangs directly over the heads of 300,000 daily commuters as they travel through the Long Island Railroad corridor of the station.
