LONDON — XL video UK supplied a PixLED screen, cameras, PPU and crew to the 2009 Cliff Richard & The Shadows UK and European tour. LD Derek Jones designed video and lighting for the tour.

SYRACUSE, Italy — LD Mariano de Tassis credited Clay Paky fixtures for helping him fulfill Claudio Baglioni’s ideas for lighting his 2009 tour, which included stops in historic venues. “The original idea for the lighting design came directly from the artist and was then developed jointly by myself and Fabrizio “Bicio” Marchi, production and designer manager,” said de Tassis.

DURHAM, U.K. — E/T/C UK’s Ross Ashton designed a projection project for Durham Cathedral as part of the four-day “Lumière” Durham Festival of Light event, curated and co-ordinated by Artichoke. Ashton’s work, Crown of Light, covered the entire North fascia of the Cathedral, including all sides of the three towers — the largest installation of the festival.

BRUSSELS, Belgium — EML supplied lighting and projection controlled by two ArKaos A10 media servers for Night of the Proms. The 40-date tour, reaching some 600,000 people in five European countries, combines pop and classic music and is now in its 25th year.

ROME — Clay Paky fixtures were used to light a series of variety shows on Italian TV that played on the traditional and perceived differences in the way of life in the northern and southern regions of Italy.

PULA, Croatia — Emil Koller, LD with Sali Trade, Robe’s Croatian distributor, used Robe moving lights for the three classic ballet performances staged as part of the 2009 Histriafestival at the Roman Amphitheatre here. Along with lighting gear, Sali Trade provided sound for the event, which was project-managed for Sali Trade by Admir Shehu.

LONDON — Summit Steel supplied rigging to the latest UK and European section of Pink’s Funhouse world tour, and also coordinated and supplied all rigging and automation requirements for Elton John’s latest Red Piano U.K. and European tour.

KUWAIT — Procon Event Engineering, with supplied equipment and crew for the Olympic Council of Asia’s (OCA) new headquarters in Kuwait, used W-DMX to help light the complex, which includes one building measuring 200 meters in length, with two different levels at 15 meters and 20 meters, and two towers at 100 meters height.
