XL Supplies Video for Robbie Williams Tour

XL Video supplied a custom video solution and crew for Robbie Williams’ Swings Both Ways tour. The set included an impressive 22.8 metre wide by 10.8 metre high upstage scenic LED wall made up from XL’s Pixled F-12 product. There were also side screens for IMAG made from Radiant MC-7T. Three Barco 40K HD projectors were used to beam material onto a massive drape, and content was programmed and run via a Catalyst media server. The projection was fed via a d3 media server system.

Clay Paky Gear Lights Sforza Castle to Tell the Story of Milan

MILAN, Italy – Tracing Milan’s history back to the Belle Époque, the “Castello di Carta” (Paper Castle) project transformed the Sforza Castle with lights, music and projected images from the “Achille Bertarelli” print collection. Twenty-three Clay Paky Alpha Profile 1500s were used to illuminate the façades by shaping light beams and projecting multiple dynamically transforming images and geometric shapes.

XL Video Supports Volvo V40 U.K. Road Show

GLASGOW, U.K. — Working with marketing agency Arnold KLP and creative production agency DesignScene, XL Video supplied an LED video wall for the Volvo V40 promotional roadshow currently being shown in some of the UK’s largest shopping malls. Through June and July 2014, the promotional display featuring the LED video wall visited the Bullring in Birmingham, Metro Centre in Gateshead, Cabot Circus in Bristol and finished up at the Silverburn in Glasgow.

Christie Donates and Installs Gear for San Diego’s Museum Of Photographic Arts

SAN DIEGO – Christie donated projection gear for the 226-seat Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theatre at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) here. Christie’s professional services team also handled the installation. The new Christie Solaria Series DCI-compliance based system includes both Christie’s Solaria One projector and alternative content powered by a Christie SKA-3D cinema processor. The new system replaces a first-generation Christie digital cinema projector.

OVIEDO, FL – First Baptist Oviedo, which now delivers its message through a variety of media including live streaming, sermon archiving, podcasts, and its weekly shows on local television, acquired FOR-A’s HVS-390HS video switcher earlier this year to meet its growing production needs. Josh Felix, the church’s director of technical arts, credited the switcher’s built-in color corrector on four channels and built-in scalers, which lets the crew easily scale SD images to HD.

MILTON KEYNES, U.K. – Working with video director Blue Leach, Creative Technology provided video gear in support of a 12-show U.K./European tour leg that was part of Pearl Jam’s ongoing world tour in support of the band’s 10th studio album, Lighting Bolt, which was released last fall. The tour leg began in Amsterdam in mid-June and finished with a concert here July 11. The shows featured a form of I-Mag (in black and white), a rarity for the band’s live shows.

Upstage Video Provides LED Screens for FIFA World Cup Viewing Parties

BETHLEHEM, PA – Upstage Video provided LED screens for World Cup viewing parties in major cities across the country. The viewing party in Bethlehem, PA (pictured here) was one of a select few outdoor viewing events officially approved by FIFA. More than 50,000 fans gathered at the SteelStacks arts and cultural campus on 12 separate game days to view the event on Upstage Video’s 17’x27’ Daktronics PST-12HD Mobile LED Screen. That screen is even larger than FIFA’s official soccer goal dimensions (8 by 24 feet).

Ai Media Servers Used for Coldplay’s RAH “Mushroom” Projections

LONDON —Coldplay’s shows at Royal Albert Hall here July 1-2 wrapped a brief, six-date tour in support of Ghost Stories, their May 2014 album release. Video director Ben Miles lit up the hall’s 86 “mushrooms” — ceiling mounted acoustic diffusion disks — with video-mapped projections, with an assist from four Ai Media S8 Infinity servers from Avolites Media.
